Talk to any successful business person and they will tell you that in order to create a successful business at least 2 things were involved, gaining mastery in their chosen discipline and a certain amount of luck. And the more time spent developing mastery the luckier they got. And that is also how it has been for me. I was “lucky” enough to learn about the business philosophy of W. Edwards Deming very early in my career. It changed my ability to see and understand how business works. I took that same theory and applied it to my racing business and it worked there too. Running an efficient and profitable business is possible. And it’s not as hard as you think. A bit of mastery and luck are required….
